Aaron Sheppard – Scott’s Best Man
Aaron Sheppard lives in Columbus, Ohio and works as a Web Developer Consultant for Verizon Wireless corporate headquarters. I first met Scott and Iain in November of 2003 during my very first vacation to Canada.
We have maintained contact with each other and during 2004/2005 I visited quite often (to the point of border patrol questioning my frequent visits) in which we all became very close friends. I consider them family and they will always be my brothers.
James Fowler – Scott’s Groomsman
James lives in Toronto and maintains a full time studio practice as an artist. I met Scott 16 years ago and Iain on the fateful Toronto Pride weekend when Scott proudly displayed his bright beaded bear necklace and Iain as his newfound sweetheart. Spending a lot of time with them through the early 2000s, I developed an
James admiration for Scott’s cooking and Iain’s ability to solve any computer problem. I enjoy most Fowler dinners with the two, where Scott fusses the details and Iain sets the table with his latest electronic gadget. There is always lively conversation and good debate.
Joseph Miller – Iain’s Best Man
Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA until I met Joseph, my Husband of 26 years, who swept me of my feet taking me across country to San Francisco. We have lived in San Francisco for 24 years where I work as a Principal Architect in Roche / Genentech’s Global Engineering group.
I first met Iain in 2010 during one of his work trips to San Francisco. It was over lunch at Firewood in the Castro District that we discovered the many life experiences and adventures we had in common which started our incredible friendship. Through Iain I met Scott and the wonderful men who they consider family. They welcomed me into their lives and as a part of their family. It’s an incredible honor to be celebrating with everyone the marriage of Iain and Scott.
Jeff Main – Iain’s Groomsman
I live in Ottawa with my wife Buffy and my newborn son Stirling.
I have known Iain for 20 years. We met in the Fall of 1993 at Carleton University and we quickly became great friends, linked by a passion of music and computers. We became roommates in university and also had some great adventures while in England during our 3rd year student exchange.
In 2004 I asked Iain to be the best man at my wedding and was very happy that he accepted! Both Iain and Scott played a crucial part in making sure that our wedding day went smoothly. I am now extremely honoured to be part of their big day.
